All Natural Beauty Products For Clear, Glowing Skin

I live by the motto the less ingredients the better, which applies to the food I eat and now the products I use.

As a long time acne sufferer, I've tried every cream and medicine on the market. Finally at the age of 24 my skin has began to cooperate, but years of trial and error have left my now clear skin with fine lines, hyper-pigmentation, sensitivity, and lovely dark spots. My search for a remedy has led me down the natural path to the amazing beauty products that have saved my skin.

RoseWater Glycerin Mix/RoseWater

Rosewater gives my skin that dewy, glass like, I woke up like this glow.

Rosewater is the all purpose Holy Grail product that will always be apart of my skin care routine.  I use Rose Water for everything. Hair mist, face mist, make up setting spray, perfume, overall smell good. I mainly use it as a mosturizing toner after I've used a stripping cleanser or whenever my skin feels tight and dry.

In the summer months I like to carry it around to save my skin from the hot, sticky summer air here in NYC. If you're like me and don't like putting heavy lotions on your face during the day, Garden of Wisdom sells a Rosewater and Glycerin Mixture in a convenient spray bottle that lightly but effectively moisturizes skin. Rosewater gives my skin that dewy, glass like, I woke up like this glow we all crave.

HOW I USE IT:
I spray as needed whenever I feel my skin needs a pick me up. At night after I've washed my face and toned with WitchHazel, I spray rose water all over my face then follow up with my rosehip oil and acne cream.

I buy my Rosewater from WholeFoods Market or Amazon.com, $7-$9

Thayers Rose Petal WitchHazel

The right Witchhazel can change your life, while the wrong witch hazel can dry your skin out, so bad you'll feel like a fish out of water. When I say the right WitchHazel, I'm talking about one without alcohol like my all time favorite brand, Thayers Witch Hazel. I like the smell of their cucumber toner, but I love their toner infused with Rose Petals. WH gives me that double clean my skin needs after a long day of wearing makeup and sunscreen, without over drying.

According to WebMD WitchHazel is a " natural astringent, which helps control acne by reducing the appearance of bumps, redness, and oil. It can lessen bacteria growth on the skin while speeding up the healing of scars, scabs, and infections."

HOW I USE IT:
Instead of washing my face I pour a little WH on a cotton round and swipe my entire face and I'm good to go. At night I like to use it after my cleanser to make sure all the dirt, and make up from the day is gone.

Rosehip Oil

According to Livestrong.com Roship Oil contains"antioxidants, which combat free radicals that cause damage, vitamin A, combined with the oil's essential fatty acids, help improve skin tone, texture and pigmentation."

After reading numerous positive reviews on the Ordinary's 100% Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil, I ran out to my local Ricky's and purchased a bottle for only $10! I've been using this little miracle worker for the past month and I'm so happy with my results. My dark spots are fading, the creases in my forehead are gone, and I swear I have a natural glow.

HOW I USE IT: At night after my toner, I use 1 drop for my entire face. I then lightly pat the oil over my entire face paying attention to my problem areas. A little goes a long way. Before using it on your entire face patch test on a small area. Check out some make up less selfies below

Aloe Vera

AV is another all natural, all purpose item on this list. It has been a saving grace to my natural hair and skin.

Aloe vera promotes healthy hair, accelerates hair growth, locks moisture into hair, removes itchy scalp, prevents dandruff, and keeps the proper pH balance of hair.

One of my favorite natural hair bloggers Naptural85 on YT introduced me to it in this video and I've been using it ever since

According to Style CrazeThe antibacterial properties of aloe vera gel are also very effective in treating acne and reducing the redness caused by it. It prevents bacteria from infecting acne wounds and accelerates the process of healing. Its antifungal properties are useful in treating inflammation like boils and cysts on the skin.

HOW I USE IT:  I like to use Aloe vera gel as lotion when my skin is irritated, by the end of the day my blemishes are greatly reduced. Before I wash my hair I rub fresh AV gel on to my scalp and hair. I let it sit for an hour or so then wash my hair as normal. It lightly exfoliates my scalp, moisturizes hair, and makes detangling a breeze. I also add aloe vera juice to my leave in conditioner concoctions for extra moisturized hair during the week.
